wait until i tell you guys about the dream i had of her...LOL.

it's been 4 days since i've arrived in taiwan, and i have to say, aside from the insanity of the mosquito population, i'm really enjoying it here.

being surrounded by asian people is nice, but i'm definitely not communicating at the level that i should be. i might be doing the translating, but i'm definitely not doing it well. a girl at work named monica has to help me by making sound a lot better. let me give you an example.

my cousin 2 days ago said that he just doesn't like pineapple. he doesn't like the flavor, the texture, or anything about it.

i had no idea. all he said was "i don't like it." in chinese.

so i asked him "why?" in english and asked him to respond in english.

his response to me was "i do not think it is delicious."

sounds fair enough, right? but he didn't exactly explain why he didn't like it. so i still didn't exactly understand.

only when he spoke in chinese and said "i don't like the taste, the smell, the texture, or anything abot it." did i truly understand why he wouldn't eat it.

same idea carries over to me. i can't read the language, i can't write it. when i talk, i talk at maybe a 6th grade level. i'm improving at a pretty quick rate, but i can't say i'm happy with myself.

my co-workers have been more than happy to help me, but yeah.

anyway, i will try to post everything else when i can...the computer at work is sort of buggy.
