so it's been a week since my vacation in mexico.

i can honestly say that when you go on a cruise, you need to have friends to have fun.

but didn't you have fun with your family?
of course, it's not that i didn't have fun with my family...but there was potential for way more fun with family friends/friends and what not...

so why didn't you make friends?
i did. or rather, i made acquaintances:

girl 1 and 2)
two girls who are aged 21 and 23 respectively, best friends since forever, one's pakistani, the other is taiwanese. both are from the east coast, new jersey. i lounged around with them some, took care of the taiwanese girl while she had too much to drink in cabo san lucas...but that was pretty much it.

girl 3)
canadian girl i met on the top deck while i was lying on a pool chair reading the Da Vinci Code. she was reading the book too, and we got into a discussion about the book, and life's little mysteries. we were having a great time until i noticed this one guy mugging me from a distance...turned out that the guy was her boyfriend, and i never really got to talk to her again.

girl 4 and 5)
two asian girls that i got to talking to while eating at the midnight buffet. without a doubt the most interesting conversation i've ever had on a cruise ship.

why is that?

they were lesbian. and they weren't shy about it either.

what were they doing?

snuggling, kissing, the whole nine yards. i then proceeded to become pink with embarassment. it was either they were really lesbian, or they were really trying to fuck with my head. either way...all good. HAHAHAAA...

i noticed that you've only met girls.

yeah. i did meet guys...i was just getting to that.

guy 1)
theo mills. he sat at our dinner table. drank some kind of alcohol every single night. is definitely trying to be a ladies' man. succeeds halfway. he scares off half the women that he meets: our head waiter, our assistant waiter, and some other women that was at the casino. the other half go to bed with him. did i mention that he made our dinners interesting?

guy 2 and 3)
gay couple. not flaming gay...heck...not even noticeably gay. it just seemed like they were good friends, together on a cruise. well...it seemed like they were good friends, until one guy stuck his hand down the other guy's swim trunks. they excused themselves for their "absurd behavior". i proceeded to stage "red with embarassment."

guy 4)
Monty Banks, piano entertainer in the Schooner Bar. Awesome awesome man with a talent for singing, and an intellectual mind to boot. I spent a good hour talking to him every time i met him. he'd buy me a drink and we'd sit in the bar after his entertainment hours (830pm-1130pm) and just talked about the little music that i knew, and the big mysteries in the universe. we talked about the big bang, the meaning of life, what we would feel when we die...etc. and believe me, after a drink, he'd become very intellectual.

so what did you do in mexico?

i'll tell you: not much. walked around the stores, the downtown areas, but that was pretty much it. there were three highlights to the trip.

a) waverunners. going 40km/h on open water and then wiping out is a definite rush. let's not forget that the since water in the bays that i was in wasn't exactly calm...i was flying all over the place.

b) cold beer. one guy actually snuck me one while my mom wasn't looking. he was winking at me the entire time. how could i say no? besides...it was hot and humid in puerto vallarta...the beer actually hit the spot.

c) tequila factory in puerto vallarta. tasted the difference between "Jose Cuervo" and "True Mexican 100% Agave Tequila". HUGE difference. Tasted like 12 different kinds of tequila. One of my favorites was the almond tequila...which just had this HEAVY almond taste that I really liked. The other tequila was just shot tequila. It just tasted good. The tour guide at the factory winked at me and poured me 3 shots while my mom wasn't looking. he said he'd give me 10 bucks if i downed them all.

and?

easiest 10 bucks i ever made. and best tour of puerto vallarta i've ever been on. wasn't drunk, but was definitely tipsy. had a LOT of fun trying to keep my parents from noticing.

how was the food on the boat?

food on a cruise ship is always good. but sherberts on this boat was just...exquisite. all the sherberts were freshly made from real fruit....so i had passionfruit, mango, watermelon, orange, lemon....and when lime sherbert came out...i just ordered 3 servings....

what the hell? lime?

what, you didn't know? i'm a sucker for limes. and the key lime pie on this boat was to die for. oh man.

did you enjoy yourself?

quite. i mean, for the next cruise that i go on, if i go on at all...i'll at least tell my parents to plan it in conjunction with family friends. that'll make it much more fun.

alrighty. tired. going to go to sleep.
